.eco domain information

All .eco domains will be initially registered with a ServerHold status. Registrants will need to create an .eco profile at profiles.eco in order to activate the domain. After a registrant successfully registered a domain, the registry will send an email from activate@profiles.eco with the following Subject: "Activate{Domain}.eco". Once the registrant answered a few questions and created the .eco profile, the ServerHold status will be removed and the registrant will be able to use the domain.

Why should I register a .eco domain name?

The Internet has facilitated a global push toward ecological awareness. Instead of discussing environmental issues locally, individuals, businesses, and organizations can now bring their ideas to a worldwide community, allowing each ecological development to be more beneficial and effective than the last. .ECO facilitates ecological growth by creating domains within a designated “eco” namespace and connecting concepts, organizations, and individuals working in ecology all over the world.
