Domain .su - national domain: Russia

In connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions introduced from March 2022 until further notice, we do not offer new .ru domain registrations or transfers. Renewals of domains registered so far will be processed as long as it is possible.

Russian domain information

.su domains (Russia) were assigned as domains of the Soviet Union in 1990. To this day, however, these domains exist, are active and new registrations are being accepted. In May 2009, more than 80,000 .su domains were active.

.su domains can now be registered by any entity from any country.

However, .su domains are recognized by ICANN as future exempt domains. The date of their deactivation is not known at the moment, however, when registering such a domain, it should be taken into account that in the future they may be deactivated even before the expiry date of the domain.

In the case of persons running a business, company, or organization, for registration, it is required to send the company registration document in an electronic version. We then send this document to the register on behalf of the client.

In the case of natural persons, before registering the domain, provide the date of birth and send a scan of the passport containing the data of its holder.

Registration of the .su domain is tantamount to acceptance of the registration regulations issued by the registry.
